Founded in November 2005 by Adam Gray and Christopher Shackelton, Coliseum Capital Management is a Connecticut-based hedge fund specializing in sponsoring and advising private investment partnerships focused on long-term investments in public and private companies.
Christopher Shackelton
Mr. Shackelton is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Coliseum Capital Management. Mr. Shackelton has significant public company investment, turnaround and board experience. He is currently Chairman of the Board of both ModivCare (previously served as CEO) and Lazydays, as well as a director on the boards of Universal Technical Institute and Gildan Activewear. He was previously Chairman of Rural/Metro and Medalogix, and on the boards of LHC Group, Advanced Emissions, BioScrip and Interstate Hotels & Resorts.
Mr. Shackelton holds an undergraduate degree from Yale University. He is actively involved in multiple non-profit and charitable organizations, including serving as Chairman of the Connecticut Open.
Adam Gray
Mr. Gray is the Managing Partner of Coliseum Capital Management, with over 35 years of experience in private equity and operations, specializing in financial and operational restructurings. He currently serves as Chair of Purple Innovation and Director of NFI Group, and has held board roles at several other public companies, including Benihana, Blue Bird Corporation, and DEI Holdings. Before co-founding Coliseum in 2005, he held leadership roles at Burger King Corporation and Metromedia Company. Mr. Gray began his career at Morgan Stanley’s Merchant Banking Group. He holds dual degrees from the University of Pennsylvania: a B.S.E. in Finance from Wharton and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
