Heard Capital is a long-only investment firm focused on identifying high-conviction investment opportunities in the financials, industrials, technology, telecommunications, and media (TMT) sectors. Founded in 2011, Heard Capital currently manages approximately $2 billion in assets (as of January 1, 2025) on behalf of its investors. Heard Capital’s investor base consists of leading endowments, foundations, pensions, and select family offices.

William Heard

William Heard is the Founder, CEO, and CIO of Heard Capital LLC, where he leads the firm’s investment process and strategic direction. Before founding Heard Capital, he was a special situations analyst at Stark Investments, covering TMT, financials, industrials, and energy across asset classes such as leveraged loans, high yield, and equities. He is active in philanthropy, serving on the boards of City Year Chicago and Harlem Children’s Zone, and supports youth-focused organizations including OneGoal. William is also involved with the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the University of Chicago Law School.

He holds a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate from Marquette University, where he founded the Applied Investment Management (AIM) Program.
