Jonathan Litt

Jonathan Litt is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Land & Buildings, an activist hedge fund focused on real estate, which he launched in 2008. With over 25 years of experience, he has led successful campaigns at companies like BRE Properties, Associated Estates, and MGM Resorts. Previously, Mr. Litt was Managing Director and Senior Property Analyst at Citigroup, where he led a global 44-member real estate research team. He was ranked the #1 Institutional Investor real estate analyst for eight years.

He began his career on the buy-side at European Investors and BrookHill Properties. Mr. Litt holds a BA in Economics from Columbia University and an MBA in Finance from NYU Stern.

Craig Melcher

Craig Melcher is a Principal at Land & Buildings and co-founded the firm alongside Jonathan Litt. He has 16 years of real estate experience and works closely with Mr. Litt on investment management and firm operations.

Previously, he was Vice President at Citigroup, covering apartment and specialty REITs and contributing to global real estate strategy. He also helped manage model portfolios, including long-only and long/short strategies.

Mr. Melcher holds an MBA with honors from NYU Stern (Stern Scholar) and a BS cum laude from Wharton. He is a CFA charterholder.
