Daniel Zwirns

Dan Zwirn co-founded Arena Investors in 2015, a global investment firm managing approximately $3.5 billion with a focus on special situations and credit investments across corporates, real estate, structured finance, and securities. Known for developing pragmatic, precisely structured solutions, Dan and his team excel in complex transactions where others cannot or will not engage. Before Arena, Dan led several specialty finance enterprises, including Applied Data Finance, North Mill Capital, North Mill Equipment, and Lantern Endowment Partners. From 2001, he co-founded and served as Managing Partner of D.B. Zwirn & Co., a $6 billion global special situations firm, after founding the Special Opportunities Group at Highbridge Capital Management. He previously led the Special Opportunities Group at MSD Capital, Michael Dell's private investment firm. Dan is a Senior Trustee of the Brookings Institution, serves on boards at the University of Pennsylvania, and has held leadership roles at the Robin Hood Foundation, Barnard College, and the New York Public Theater. He holds a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School, a B.A.S. in computer science from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
