James A. Mitarotonda
James A. Mitarotonda is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Barington Capital Group, L.P., a value-oriented activist investment firm he founded in January 2000. He is an experienced public company director, currently serving on the board of The Eastern Company, and has previously served on boards of notable companies including A. Schulman, Avon Products, OMNOVA Solutions, The Pep Boys, The Jones Group, Griffon Corporation, and others. He began his career at Bloomingdales and Citibank and co-founded Commonwealth Associates (now Comvest), where he served as Chairman and CEO. He holds a B.A. in economics from Queens College and an M.B.A. from NYU's Stern School of Business.
