Askeladden Capital takes concentrated positions in undervalued businesses believed to have competitive advantages in markets with a positive secular outlook. These companies are expected to significantly increase their per-share earnings or free cash flow over time through a combination of organic growth and sound capital allocation, whether via M&A or returning capital to shareholders.

Samir Patel

Samir Patel is the Founder and Portfolio Manager of Askeladden Capital, a long-only investment firm specializing in value-oriented small-cap equities, which he founded in 2015. Since then, he has focused on deep fundamental research and long-term investing through separately managed accounts. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as a Research Analyst at Bonanza Capital, a hedge fund focused on small-cap stocks. Prior to that, he served as a Senior Editor at Seeking Alpha’s SA Pro division from 2012 to 2013.

Samir holds an MBA in Finance and Supply Chain Management (2014), graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and a B.S. in Biochemistry, magna cum laude (2013), both from the University of Texas at Dallas. His investment approach combines analytical depth with a strong conviction in undervalued opportunities.
