Nierenberg Investment Management Company is the General Partner of the D3 Family Funds and the Benedict Value Fund. Based in Camas, Washington, Nierenberg Investment Management Company has been in business for over 25 years. The D3 Family Funds are long-term, constructively engaged, private equity-like investors in a concentrated portfolio of public micro-cap companies. The Benedict Value Fund utilizes quantitative and fundamental analysis to build a curated portfolio of U.S. small-cap value stocks.

David Nierenberg

David Nierenberg is the Founder and President of Nierenberg Investment Management Company (NIMCO), which manages The D3 Family Funds—a concentrated, long-term investor in undervalued micro-cap public equities. Before founding NIMCO in 1996, he was a General Partner at Trinity Ventures, focusing on turnarounds and growth investments.

He currently serves on the boards of Flotek Industries, Rosetta Stone, Riverview Bancorp, and the Washington State Investment Board. He co-chairs Columbia Law School’s Ira Millstein Center and chairs the Research Advisory Committee for Glass-Lewis. David holds a BA and JD from Yale and was named Philanthropist of the Year in Southwest Washington.

Damon Benedict

Damon Benedict is a Partner at Nierenberg Investment Management Company and Portfolio Manager of the Benedict Value Fund. He began his investment career as an Equity Research Associate at Fidelity Investments, where he developed strong analytical skills and sector expertise.

At Nierenberg, he advanced from Equity Research Analyst to Partner, known for his disciplined approach to long-term value investing and strategic decision-making. Damon holds a BA in Psychology from Yale University, which informs his understanding of behavioral finance and market psychology.
